Mt. Evans
Grueling and epic (Mt. Evans was a blast) Tips: Eat and drink enough on the ride up, approach well rested, pace yourself, pre-acclimate regarding elevation, be careful descending. The first half of Evan's descent from the summit is painful. Cracked asphalt, potholes, high-traffic (goat, human, car) Met majestic mountain goats with babies. So graceful on the rocks (compared to the greatest athletes, mountain goat mannerism, and skill set remains unparalleled.
Chapman + Carbon Fail
Descending Chapman on a road bike has its cons. Carbon wheels, for example. I had never seen carbon "fail" in person, but heat seems to be the enemy. A very hot day, paired with heavy breaking (using caution on this sandy-gravel descent) Led to a carbon rim "explosion" for lack of better terms. Carbon splinters, worn out tire, and a ride home on the rim. Sent it too hard. Bright side, the spokes, and hub are still good. I am going to buy a proper rim and work on rebuilding this wheel.

Curious where my childhood BMX enthusiasts would be if they stayed on the bike, or at least transitioned that passion elsewhere. Great out...
